As part of the its meeting in San Antonio, on April 2, 2011, RAMSCA members and guests visited the Center for the Intrepid (CFI), a true gift of the American public and now part of Brooke Army Medical Center's (BAMC) Dept of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.
The structure was originally financed entirely by private donations, with over 600,000 people contributing to the $50 million construction cost.

Retired Army Medical Specialist Corps - RAMSCA
The Retired Army Medical Specialist Corps Association (RAMSCA) was established in 1983 to facilitate communication and camaraderie among current, retired and previous members (not retired) of the Army Medical Specialist Corps.
The Army Medical Specialist Corps (AMSC) consists of Army occupational therapists, physical therapists, dietitians and physician assistants. The AMSC and each of its specialties have a long history of service and support to the military warfighters.
RAMSCA goals:
- Provide networking and social opportunities for its members
- Support the goals of the AMSC
- Help to preserve the history of the AMSC
- Recognize the literary, educational, artistic, and community services of its members
- Provide scholarships and research grants
