COL (Ret) Jack W. Briley (PT) passed away at his home on January 6, 2020. Jack retired from the Army Medical Specialist Corps after 28 years of service. A military and memorial service with military honors will be held at 2pm on 9 March 2020 at the Fort Smith Arkansas National Cemetery.
Colonel Briley began his career at Army Madigan Army Medical Center with follow-on assignments at Camp Zama; Womack, Ireland, and DeWitt Army Community Hospitals; Walter Reed Army Medical Center; the Health Clinic at the Pentagon, and the William Beaumont Fitness Center, and culminating as Chief, Physical Therapy Womack Army Medical Center. During that assignment COL Briley directed the inpatient and outpatient burn care for the injured at the Pope Air Force Base plane crash in 1994.
COL Briley was awarded the “A” proficiency designator from The Surgeon General of the Army.
Jack loved the game of golf. His broad smile and robust laugh will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him.
